Established in 1997, the Jafaria Students Organization Pakistan (JSO) is a Shiite Muslim student organization with a nationwide presence, including regions such as Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. JSO is affiliated with the Shia Ulema Council in Pakistan.

Purpose:

JSO aims to guide the youth according to the teachings of the Quran, Prophet Muhammad, and his progeny, fostering piety and moral integrity. The organization is dedicated to defending the sanctity of Islam and safeguarding Pakistan’s ideological and geographical boundaries.

History:

JSO was founded by Syed Iftikhar Hussain Naqvi and Sajid Raza Thaheem, emerging as an independent student organization while maintaining its commitment to Shia Islamic principles under the guidance of Ayatullah Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi.

Organizational Structure:

JSO operates through over 500 units across Pakistan, each comprising local student members. The organization is led by a Central President, with Syed Iftikhar Hussain Naqvi serving as the inaugural president from 1997 to 1999. As of 2023, Muhammad Akbar holds the position of Central President.

Activities:

JSO engages in various activities aimed at the educational and spiritual development of students. These include organizing study circles, religious gatherings, and discussions on contemporary issues affecting the youth and the nation. Through these initiatives, JSO strives to cultivate a generation of well-rounded individuals committed to the principles of Islam and the prosperity of Pakistan.
